Goalies’World rankings
8-week lead for Ryan
Miller
For an 8th straight Monday, Ryan Miller of
the Buffalo Sabres is the Goalies’World rankings leader with a 26-8-3, .936,
2.01, record, leading the NHL in goals-against average and save percentage.
He’s now showing 10558 GW computer points, an 100-point lead over Tomas Vokoun,
of the Florida Panthers. Miikka Kiprusoff of the Calgary Flames, slid to 3rd place. Miller had another solid week, turning in a 1-0-1, .958, 1.44 record
with a 32 saves, 3-1 road win against the Thrashers, and a 36 saves, two goals
performance in a 3-2 road shootout loss against the Islanders.
Goalies’World goalie of the
week
Craig Anderson awesome
The top performer of the week is without a doubt,
Craig Anderson of the Colorado Avalanche. He only played two games but both
were stolen wins, first a 44 saves, 3-2 win in Calgary on Monday and second, a
37 saves, 3-1 home win against the New Jersey Devils on Saturday. The Flames
outshot the Avalanche 46-21 and the Devils outshot the Avs, 38-27.
Stealers of the week
Tomas Vokoun makes 47
saves
Despite Craig Anderson’s two stolen wins. Tomas
Vokoun, of the Florida is our stealer of the week because of his 47 saves
effort in a 5-2 home win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday. The
Panthers were outshot 49-23 but Vokoun, the no. 2 goaltender in the
Goalies’World rankings, was just too good.

Mike Brodeur tops the
rookies
Minor-league goaltender, Mike Brodeur, was outstanding
in goal for the Ottawa Senators, this week, stooping 62 of 64 shots for a
2-0-0, .961, 1.01 record, including a 32 saves road shutout at Madison Square
Garden against the Rangers on Thursday. Ironically this happened a few days
after the firing of goalending consultant, Eli Wilson. It looks like he didn’t
too bad of a job with Brodeur.
