Ryan Miller now in a
6-week lead
For a 6th straight Monday Ryan Miller, of the Buffalo
Sabres is the Goalies’World rankings leader with a rock solid 23-8-3, 2.02,
.934 record, leading the NHL in goals against average, save percentage and
shutouts (5). His lead over Miikka Kiprusoff in second place shrinked a little
bit from 78 points to 73 points. Miller was 2-0-0 in three starts this week,
stopping 70 of 76 shots for a .921, 2.48 record. He was yanked by coach Lindy
Ruff on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins but his partner, Patrick Lalime
saved the day.

Kiprusoff stars for
the Flames
Miikka Kiprusoff had another solid week in goal for
the Calgary Flames turning in a 3-0-0, .964, 1.01 record while stopping 81 of
84 shots. Ranked second in our computer scale behind Ryan Miller, Kiprusoff
stole a 4-1 win in Edmonton on Monday, making 34 saves as the Flames were
outshot 4-1. Kiprusoff also led the Flames to two home wins, 2-1 against Los
Angeles (23 saves) and 3-1 against Toronto.

Rollie the stealer
Dwayne Roloson, of the New York Islanders is our stealer
of the week with his 2-1 shootout home win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on
Tuesday. Rollie the goalie made 41 saves and was perfect in the shootout as the
Islanders were outshot 42-25.

Jimmy Howard’s red hot
Jimmy Howard, of the Detroit Red Wings is our rookie
goaltender of the week and he’s having quite a seaon, ranking 11th overall with a 14-8-2, .923, 2.20 record. Last week Howard was 2-0-1, .959,
1.32 stopping 94 of 98 shots. His only loss of the week was a 1-0, 39 saves
overtime loss in Columbus. He also led the Wings to a 4-2 home win against
Colorado (20 saves) and to a 4-1 win in Phoenix (35 saves).
