Goalies’World rankings
Ryan Miller’s still on
top
For a 5th straight Monday Ryan Miller, of the Buffalo
Sabres is the Goalies’World rankings leader with a rock solid 20-8-3, 1.98,
.935 record, leading the NHL in goals against average and save percentage.
However, his lead over Miikka Kiprusoff in second place shrinked from from 90
points to 78 points. Miller was 1-1-1 this week, stopping 105 of 114 shots for
a .919, 2.90 record.
Goalies’World goalie of the
week
Three stolen wins for
Halak
Jaroslav Halak was nothing short of spectacular in
goal for the Montreal Canadiens this week, stopping 142 of 146 shots for a
3-0-0, .959, 1.99 record. That’s a lot of rubber for only three games as the
Habs were ridiculously outshot 50-23 (Atlanta), 47-25 (Carolina) and 49-23
(Toronto) in three road games. The Habs won 4-3, 5-1 and 3-2 and those are
three stolen wins. Halak is one step away from a Goalies’World Top Ten ranking
now, sitting in 11th place with a 10-6-0, .924, 2.56 record.
Stealers of the week
A 40 saves shutout by
Halak
For a second straight week, Jaroslav Halak, of the
Montreal Canadiens, is our stealer of the week. You could pick any of his three
stolen wins of the week and that would earn him our weekly award but he’s
guilty of three day light robberies. Awesome!
