Goalies’World rankings
Craig Anderson takes
the lead
Craig Anderson, of the Colorado Avalanche has moved
past Ilya Bryzgalov of the Phoenix Coyotes and now leads the Goalies’World
rankings with an 8-1-2, .936, 2.14 record. He finally has a chance to be a
number one goalie and he’s playing likes he’s one of the best. In fact as
stated in issue 75, he could be the deal of the year in goal. Anderson had a
solid week with a 2-0-1, ,937,
2.28 record. He is also our stealer of the week (more below).

Roberto Luongo is back
Slumps don’t usually last very long with the best
goalies and Roberto Luongo is living proof. After a rough start, Luongo had an
outstanding week turning in a 3-1-0, .955. 1.27 record, stopping 107 of 112
shots, including 35 in a 3-1 home stolen win against the Toronto Maple Leafs on
Saturday. On Sunday, he recorded his 27th shutout with the Canucks
(41st of his career) to establish a new franchise record, moving
past Kirk McLean with 26. Craig Anderson, Ryan Miller, Jonathan Quick and Mike
Smith were also considered for our weekly honour.

First career win for
Greiss
The 23-year old German stopper, Thomas Greiss, of the
San Jose Sharks, is our rookie of the week with a solid performance on Sunday,
a 37 saves, 4-1 road win in Philadelphia where the Flyers were outshot 38 28.
It was his first NHL win in five NHL appearances. Well done.
