Goalies’World rankings

Ilya Bryzgalov in the lead again

The Phoenix goaltender, Ilya Bryzgalov is off to a solid start. He’s our goalie of the week, he’s the leader of the Goalies’World rankings for a second straight week and he’s the goaltender featured in issue 75, coming out in the next few days. Bryzgalov shows a rock solid 5-1-0, .953, 1.14 record including two shutouts. It doesn’t get much better than this. In Colorado, Craig Anderson is off to another great start with a 6-1-1, .935, 2.09 record. He has a chance to be a number one goalie and he’s playing likes he’s one of the best.

Goalies’World goalie of the week

3 goals in 3 games for Bryzgalov

There were some hot goalies this week in the NHL but Ilya Bryzgalov (Phoenix) is our goalie of the week. He started the week with a shootout 1-0, 26 saves road shutout in San Jose before turning in a 3-2 overtime win (24 saves) at home on Thursday against the Blues. On Saturday, he made 22 saves in a 4-1 home win against the Boston Bruins. Marc-Andre Fleury (Pittsburgh), Henrik Lundqvist (New York Rangers) and Craig Anderson (Colorado) were also truly outstanding for their respective teams.

Stealers of the week

Jeff Deslauriers

Jeff Deslauriers is our stealer of the week as he helped the Edmonton Oilers to a 6-1 win in Nashville on Monday. The Oilers were badly outshot 41-20 but the goaltending of Deslauriers was just too good while Pekka Rinne and Dan Ellis struggled at the other end.
